Health Tour Project: A study trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina (The Republic of Srpska)

A study trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina (The Republic of Srpska) was carried out from November 3rd to November 5th 2020. Educons University Experts Team visited the Republic ofSrpska with the aim of observing the examples of good practice within health tourism. During the three-day trip, the team members visited the following spas and cultural-historical sights: Dvorovi Spa (spa and wellness center), Ethno Village “Stanišić” (spa and wellness center), Bijeljina (Petar I Karađorđević Square, city park, Atik Mosque, Monastery of St. Basil of Ostrog, Monastery of St. Petka), Teslić – Vrućica Spa (spa and wellness center), Banja Luka (Kaštel Fortress, Gospodska Street, Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, FerhatPaša Mosque), Laktaši Spa, Slatina Spa.
In addition to visiting the abovementioned sights, the team members had a few very successful meetings. Firstly, a successful meeting in the Government of the Republic of Srpska with the Chief of the Department for Funds and Development Assistance of EU, Mr. Darko Telić. Assistant Minister of Trade and Tourisam attended the meeting as well. Another successful meeting was held in the City Development Agency in Banja Luka. Both Mr. Mario Milanović, General Manager of the City Development Agency, and Ms. Vesna Vojvodić, Independent Expert Associate for Preparation and Implementation of Development Strategy, attended the meeting.
The study trip provided the team members an insight into the examples of good practice within health tourism in the Republic of Srpska, as well as an exchange of experience.
